In celebration of our mutual 65th anniversaries, WTAE Channel 4 and the Gateway Clipper Fleet have come together in a meaningful way. Fusing our passion for Steelers football with a commitment to community outreach, we’re pleased to announce that our collaborative efforts, along with the support of our shuttle passengers, have successfully raised $10,751 to bolster the Greater Pittsburgh Area Food Bank’s Project Hunger Campaign.

The highlight was our “Tailgating with WTAE” event during the Monday Night Football game on September 18, where the Pittsburgh Steelers faced off against the Cleveland Browns.

The Gateway Clipper Fleet proudly contributed 25% of the proceeds from the shuttle service to the noteworthy Project Hunger campaign. Furthermore, WTAE-4 provided a memorable tailgating experience for fans and attendees.

Event Details:

  • Tailgate Gathering: Beginning at 5:00 p.m., fans enjoyed the pre-game atmosphere for three hours leading up to the match. The special edition of the “Black & Gold Primetime” by WTAE Channel 4 was broadcasted from the scenic Three Rivers.
  • Special Features: WTAE personalities, including Andrew Stockey & Ryan Recker, led the live segments from “The Countess.” Meanwhile, Ashley Dougherty, Elena LaQuatra, and Janelle Hall engaged with fans aboard the “Three Rivers Queen” riverboat, which was beautifully illuminated with blue lights.
  • Charitable Concessions: An exclusive “Blue 4 Yinz!” cocktail was available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds going to the cause.
